The terms that apply when you browse or buy from indiavillageart.com. Please read them before ordering.

About us

indiavillageart.com is operated by IndiaVillageArt, based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India (“we”, “us”). By using this site or placing an order, you agree to these terms, our Shipping Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy and Privacy Policy.

Our products

  • Every artwork is handmade by artists from villages and small towns across India, and physically checked by our team before it’s listed.
  • We photograph pieces as accurately as we can, but colours can look different on different screens. Handmade pieces also vary naturally in brush strokes, texture, resin patterns and stone placement. These variations aren’t defects.
  • Sizes are approximate and may differ slightly from those listed.
  • Photos of made-to-order items (like nameplates) show past work for reference. Your piece is made to your chosen options, so it will differ.

Prices and payment

  • Prices are in Indian Rupees (₹) and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
  • Shipping charges are shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Payments are processed securely by Razorpay. Your order is confirmed once payment succeeds.
  • If a price is clearly wrong because of an error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, even after it’s been confirmed. We’ll let you know first.
  • Many pieces are one of a kind. If an item sells out between your payment and our confirmation, we’ll refund you in full.

Personalised and made-to-order pieces

  • You’re responsible for the wording, names and details you give us. Please check spellings carefully.
  • We send a design proof before we start. Production begins only after you approve it.
  • Quotes for custom options are valid for 14 days. A quote isn’t an order until you accept it and pay.
  • We may decline wording or images that are offensive or unlawful, or that use someone else’s trademarks or copyright. If we decline, we refund you in full.
  • Cancellation and return rules for these pieces are in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Artwork and content rights

Buying an artwork gives you the physical piece to own, display, gift or resell. Copyright in the design stays with the artist and IndiaVillageArt, so you may not reproduce it (for example as prints, merchandise or digital copies) for sale without our written permission.

The photos, text and design of this site belong to IndiaVillageArt and may not be copied for commercial use.

Using the site

Please don’t misuse the site. That includes placing fake orders or quote requests, trying to break its security, or collecting data from it with automated tools. We may cancel orders or refuse service where we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.

Our responsibility

We’re responsible for delivering what you ordered as described, and for putting things right under our Returns & Refunds Policy if we don’t. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We aren’t liable for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as courier disruption, natural events or strikes. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Please contact us first. Most problems are quickest to fix directly. Email contact@indiavillageart.com or call +91 94346 56647 (Monday to Saturday, 10am–6pm IST).

We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Kolkata, West Bengal, without affecting your right to approach a consumer commission.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown here when you place an order is the one that applies to that order.
